“We are passionate about nurturing the talents of our catering students from Aylesbury College and we encourage them to take ownership of every aspect of the restaurant planning to prepare them for the real world” states Christian Moulinier, Hospitality and Catering Manager at Hardings Restaurant, with an animated and enthusiastic smile.

True Food

Run as a fully commercial and sustainable concern and headed up by a professional team with Head Chef Fred Reader, Hardings Restaurant at Aylesbury College is undergoing a full refurbishment and offers its talented BTEC students an excellent start to their careers. The emphasis is on casual dining and “true” food with a developing ethos around locally grown, seasonal ingredients. It is not a school but a professional establishment with a growing reputation for excellent food and service. Tempting menu options include Sirloin Steak with Pont Neuf Potatoes, Field Mushrooms and Confit Cherry Tomatoes and desserts including a Chocolate & Amaretto Mousse Delice.

In this fun and safe environment students are encouraged to mature and learn the business of running a restaurant at every level. “There is no point in running a business if you do not make a profit and we engender all the necessary rules for running a successful catering establishment, from quality food presentation, hygiene and food safety to costing” says Christian.

Customer service is also at the top of the list and Christian believes that Hardings differentiates itself by offering excellent service with a little bit of extra magic. Open from Tuesday to Friday inclusive every week, lunchtime service is between 12 and 2pm with dinner service from 6 to 8pm. They also offer breakfast functions and afternoon meetings with conference facilities which have proved very popular, especially with the advantage of the ample parking. There are 60 covers in the main restaurant but they can cater for up to 250 people in total by using their very attractive atrium space.

Mother’s Day

Situated at the college site on the edge of Aylesbury, Hardings is ideally positioned for both business and private functions. They have catered for everything from a romantic meal for two, to weddings, private parties and business meetings.

The atmosphere at Hardings is one of great excitement and the enthusiasm behind the aims of the restaurant is almost tangible. With Mother’s Day approaching on March 18th why not book a table and try Hardings restaurant? You will be guaranteed a genuinely well prepared meal with convivial service and an extra ‘topping’ of something unique and inspired. If not for that special occasion, you can also try the restaurant at any time during the standard opening hours listed above: bookings are not essential.

Reservations are taken over the telephone on 01296 588577 and you can also find out more on their website hardings@aylesbury.ac.uk
